Matt Turk is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on June 16, 1968 in Greenfield, Wisconsin, United States. Matthew Edward Turk, born June 16, 1968, is an ex-American football punter. In 1993, he was signed by the Green Bay Packers in undrafted free agency. He played college football at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Turk was a three-time Pro Bowl selection. He also played for the Los Angeles Rams (Washington Redskins), Miami Dolphins (Miami Dolphins), New York Jets (Miami Dolphins), St. Louis Rams (St. Louis Rams), Jacksonville Jaguars (Jaguars) and Houston Texans.
Matt Turk was the youngest of six siblings. He had a brother, Dan Turk. Dan was a center for 15 years and he died December 24, 2000. Dan was the long snapper on one of Matt’s punts in his final season to become the first brother to do so.
On April 23, 2002, Turk signed with the New York Jets. On March 7, he was released.
After a poor performance by Mark Royals, Turk was re-signed by the Dolphins on September 29, 2003. After having a visit with the Green Bay Packers (the first team he signed with his career) He ultimately re-signed with the Dolphins on March 23, 2004. After being placed on Injured Reserve, he was released on October 12, 2005.
Turk was signed by the Washington Redskins on April 5, 1995. He was named to the NFL roster for the first time in his professional career. He was named a First Team All-Pro in 1996, which is the last time that a Redskin from any position has been awarded this honor. He remained on the team until Turk was traded to the Miami Dolphins in March 2000. Because of a strained relationship with Dan Snyder, Turk was traded. He had a finger injury that required him to miss a game. He was also upset by a report that he had been injured playing basketball. However, it was later proved false and he was correctly diagnosed. Turk stated that he was not surprised and that the Redskins did him a favor by trading him.
